October Dreams
by Jennifer Kelly on September 29th, 2014

As my family and I head into October this year, I am awfully quiet. I'm watching the kids grow, inch by inch. Memorizing details, listening to sounds of chatter and music, breathing in the smells of cookies and candles, and taking the time to rest. I'm feeling a bit more tired and slower this time around. Not from age, but the type of tired you feel when your spirit is drained.

When you have a dream, it's much like a long-kept secret deep inside of you. Good dreams need soil and air and space to grow. They need walks and shifts and a good eraser. After time, hard work, and face-plant prayers, you can finally set it on display... for the whole world to see.

To see a new business, song, family, or art, turned to real life - from deep within your bones - well now, proud and humbled doesn't quite describe the essence of what's happening. But strangely, it will have to do.

And then slowly, you realize that sometimes dreams do come true.

October is a big month for me this year. Some of the dreams I have kept deep inside, are finally coming out to stretch and breathe and play. The good kind of dreams; labored from blood and sweat and tears. The raw kind that are vulnerable. The hard kind of dreams, where only time will tell if the labor of love I have spent is enough to make them come true or not.

And I am ok with that.

So, I just wanted to encourage you. Now is the time. Don't take this life for granted. Savor and taste, see and smell, big-wide-impossible dreams. The kind of dreams that are found deep within.

I'm sure you'll surprise yourself. I'm sure you'll stumble and fall along the way. But one thing I know - you'll never regret a moment of it. Because October dreams do come true.

I came across your blog from Annie Downs. Thank you for opening up and being vulnerable! I loved hearing your heart. I also loved this blog about October dreams. I have some deep dreams inside my soul as well that I know need some time to develop which gives me hope that dreams do come true. I am excited to hear more about your dreams coming true throughout this month!

Thanks so much for your kind words! My 'Healing Wounds' blog was difficult to write, but has done more for me and others than I could have ever imagined. God is faithful.
Glad to have you and so glad you commented. May God continue to grow and lead you where your dreams turn to reality. Much love!
